The Petőfi Cultural Agency appears at two foreign locations simultaneously

The Petőfi Cultural Agency takes contemporary Hungarian literature to the debuting SepsiBook in Sepsiszentgyörgy and the Warsaw Book Fair between 26 and 29 May.

It is an important moment in the life of the Petőfi Cultural Agency that it can present Hungarian literature at two foreign locations at the same time. After a two-year pause, the Warsaw Book Fair is organized again between 26 and 29 May. Concurrently, the debuting book festival in Sepsiszentgyörgy named SepsiBook will be held with the participation of such famous authors as Géza Bereményi and János Háy. On behalf of the agency, visitors can get to know the volumes of Farkas Király, Vince Fekete and Éva Farkas Wellmann.

After the end of the pandemic, the Warsaw Book Fair is organized again after two years’ pause with its motto being „The dream we carry” and with Norway as its guest of honour. The goal of the event is to revive Polish-international literary relations, to move the Polish readership to a great extent and to spread information of the latest literary publications. The Petőfi Cultural Agency takes part in the fair with their own booth where they present Hungarian books translated to Polish in the past few years, „Best of” catalogues and informative materials as well. The agency organizes four events in cooperation with the Warsaw Liszt Institute. Besides the debut of Edina Szvoren’s Nincs, és ne is legyen (There Is None, Nor Let There Be), István Kovács will be signing the first part of the series titled Egy barátság anatómiája (Anatomy of a friendship). The volume discusses Hungarian-Polish cultural connections. Round table discussions will also be held at the Hungarian booth. Furthermore, the agency will introduce its publication intended for the American market named The Continental Literary Magazine.
